Jenny Howse MA Graduate, Anthrozology
My interest in Anthrozoology began whilst undertaking the BSc Animal Science; this single optional unit paved my way to future study on both the Post-Graduate Certificate in International Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law and the Masters in Anthrozoology. Through employment as a lecturer in FE Animal Management I focus on interspecific relationships within my specialist area; Animal Behaviour and Welfare incorporating various uses of non-human animal species and discussing both those areas brought to the media spotlight as well as those often hidden. My areas of interest encompass the positive impact on humans who live alongside non-human animal species as well as the negative impacts which non-human animals can face as a result of this relationship: I am keen to further investigate the latter as I feel there is much which can be done to aid those species we share our world with.
