Stacey Higgs
MA Graduate, Anthroozology
I am currently a FE and HE lecturer at Derby College, United Kingdom. I am in my sixth academic year teaching and have a keen passion and interest in all Anthrozoology material. My main areas of interests lie within research between human-animal encounters and our perceptions of animals. I spend a lot of my free time out in southern Africa working at a zoo or running a field trip to a game reserve. I am very interested in studying animal contact encounters and the outcomes for humans and animals alike. Another area of interest is public perceptions of canned hunting and what truly happens at these centres. I am very passionate regarding the trade in rhino horn and ivory, and for the proposal of lifting the ban. My key aim is to ensure that we fully understand topics and to further literature in these areas.
