Professor Suchith Anand is an internationally recognised expert in data and AI Ethics, providing guidance and advice to governments and international organisations on data and AI ethics, data science, open education, open data and open science policies. He co-founded the Ethical Data Initiative to provide neutral space to bring together diverse actors and stakeholders, shaping the future of data governance. He has authored a wide range of publications; from journal papers, scientific reports and book chapters to international strategy documents.

 
Professor Anand is the founding chair of Geospatial IG of the Research Data Alliance (RDA), contributing to advancing geospatial data science. He is an invited expert on Education for the World Economic Forum Expert Network. He has a proven record of high quality university-level teaching. He has extensive research and teaching experience working in universities in UK and India (Indian Institute of Technology Madras, University of South Wales, Birkbeck University of London and University of Nottingham). He has mentored over 1000 emerging leaders in sustainable development programs and initiatives worldwide through GeoForAll.
 
Professor Anand is passionate about education enabling an inclusive society which supports a full commitment to equality, diversity and the public good. He has positioned his work to serve as a bridge between academia and the worlds of policy and practice. He is a UN SDG Volunteer and Advocate.
