Centre for Literature and Archives

The Centre for Literature and Archives focuses on the curation, analysis and editing of manuscripts. Bringing together colleagues from English and Creative WritingModern Languages and Cultures and History, the Centre aims to promote the university’s Special Collections, which specialises in writers with South West links such as Ted Hughes, Daphne Du Maurier, Agatha Christie, Charles Causley and Henry Williamson. The Centre has also established links with other archives of national and international significance. Besides organising conferences, exhibitions and public lectures, it takes an active role in pursuing the further acquisition of literary papers.

The Centre for Literature and Archives at the University of Exeter holds many resources and manuscripts in the Special Collections archive, and actively encourages students to engage with this material.
