Centre for Innovation in Business Education
Aims
- To promote and showcase innovative and exemplary teaching and learning practice both internally (UEBS and UoE) and to external audiences (stakeholders, prospective students and staff, the wider HE sector)
- To enhance cross-university relationships with those involved in teaching enhancement (e.g. Academic Development Team, Technology-Enhanced Learning Team, Education Incubator, Centre for Social Mobility)
- To encourage and support innovation in exploring new pedagogies (such as co-creation, digital and blended learning)
- To support and promote pedagogical research in teaching methods and practice, student support, and academic development (including grant applications and Education Incubator application development)
- To support and promote completion of PCAP/LTHE/ASPIRE fellowship applications by UEBS staff
- To provide improved academic induction provision to new members of staff, as well as ongoing CPD opportunities
- To deliver bespoke induction and academic development support to students across the School (both on campus and online, including Degree Apprentices), and to liaise with external partners to shape the delivery of language support for international students
- To co-ordinate education-focused projects that seek to enhance, and maintain the consistency of, teaching and learning practice across the School (for example, to address issues around assessment and feedback, group work, tutoring, peer-to-peer learning and digital literacy)
- To co-ordinate School-level student partnership activity relating to the enhancement of teaching and learning (for example, mentoring via the Student Digital Mentors)
- To co-ordinate School-wide initiatives to address the Success for All and Widening Participation agendas (reporting to the ESG Sub-Group)

Weekly term-time Teaching and Learning seminars - established since November 2017
Web pages within UEBS site to collect and showcase good examples of excellence and innovation in UEBS teaching and learning, and to promote activities both internally and to external audiences
Staff development seminars and training to address skill gaps and to develop teaching practice in line with the Education Strategy (UoE and UEBS)
UEBS Academic Development Programme (for all UEBS students) – including Induction (MOOC, induction modules, workshops, software training, mentoring and other online resources)
