Heather joined the UKCRC-registered Exeter Clinical Trials Unit (ExeCTU) in April 2020 as a Trial Manager and was appointed as Head of Trial Management in July 2022. She currently oversees a trial management team delivering a varied portfolio of trials and interventions.
Heather has over 15 years of clinical trials experience, including within the NHS, NIHR CRN Coordinating Centre (now RDN) and as a Trial Manager at the UKCRC-registered Leeds Clinical Trials Research Unit (CTRU). She has managed trials in several disease areas (including cancer, gastroenterology, cystic fibrosus, COVID-19, respiratory), in different recruitment settings (including primary and secondary care, emegency medicine and international trials), evaluating different intervention types (e.g. double-blind CTIMPs, complex interventions and surgical trials) and using a variety of designs (e.g.MAMs trials, cluster randomised trials and feasibility studies).
