Liam is a dedicated Quality Assurance Coordinator at the University of Exeter's Clinical Trials Unit (ExeCTU), part of the University of Exeter's Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. In this role, Liam plays a critical role alongside the Quality Assurance Manager in supporting the quality assurance framework for clinical research, ensuring adherence to regulatory, institutional, and internal processes through systematic audits, monitoring, and guidance on safety reporting and compliance management.
With an in-depth understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), applicable regulations like the Medicines for Human Use Clinical Trials Regulations, and institutional standards, Liam ensures that clinical trials meet the highest standards of safety and quality. This includes investigating deviations, managing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and supporting process improvement within ExeCTU's Quality Management System.
In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, Liam is actively involved in training and development, delivering sessions on regulatory updates and best practices, while also ensuring that all stakeholders are equipped with the latest knowledge in trial safety and compliance. They also assist in vendor assessments and oversee audits to ensure continuous improvement in trial processes.
