Lucy joined Exeter Clinical Trials Unit (ExeCTU) as a trial manager in May 2023, since joining ExeCTU Lucy has managed or helped to set-up the following studies:
- The SHAPE trial –.Online group sessions for Self-management and HeAlth Promotion in early-stage dementia with E-learning for carers – SHAPE. A multicentre, randomised controlled trial. (lead trial manager)
- The HIPSTER trial – Hip Surgical Techniques to Enhance Rehabilitation (supporting role)
- The MORE-KARE trial- A multi-centre investigation of increasing alcohol abstinence with ketamine-assisted psychological therapy in severe alcohol use disorder (supporting role)
- The CHORUS trial - a randomised controlled trial of prednisolone versus placebo for people with fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis (lead trial manager)
Lucy also set up and chaired the safety and CRF lifecycles working groups to develop key processes across the ExeCTU.
Lucy has a background in managing high risk CTIMP trials. Prior to joining ExeCTU Lucy worked for the CRO- IQVIA as Clincal Research Associate (CRA). Lucy was lead CRA on several studies including COVID vaccine, cardiovascular and cancer trials.
Before Lucy's role as a CRA she worked at the Institute of Cancer Research in their Clinical Trials and Statistics Unit (ICR-CTU) managing both drug and radiotherapy trials.
Lucy's first role in research was working as an Oncology research assistant/coordinator at Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust.
