Overview:
My main research specialisms are better treatments for neuropsychiatric symptoms in people with dementia, drug discovery, dementia prevention and improving mental health and quality of life for people with dementia in residential homes. I also have research interests in Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease Dementia. I advocate for better prescribing and treatment pathways to improve outcomes for individuals. I have led or co-authored well over 600 research papers and attracted grant income in excess of £150m over my research career, and won several awards including the Weston Brain Institute Outstanding Achievement Award.
