How to access the facility
The Contrast facility is located in the Physics building on Streatham campus. We welcome a wide range of users from across the university and externally.
If you are interested in using the facility please email contrast@exeter.ac.uk so we can organise a meeting to discuss any potential experiments
As a TRAC (transparent approach to costing) research facility, we are working towards sustainability, efficient maintenance and support of our systems and users, therefore all usage is charged at full economic costing. For non-externally funded research activities, there may be various instances where the full economic cost of the facility cannot be met by external income, and in this instance, you should refer to the Cost Allocation Policy and request these funds from your Faculty.
We have two tiers of access costing “fully supported” and “partially supported”. The fully supported rate covers an experimental officer to take data or the training of new users on the systems. The partially supported rate covers trained users operating the microscope systems independently. If you are submitting a grant application, please contact us for support in how to add these, and in estimating the imaging time required.
