Long Read Sequencing - Oxford Nanopore Technologies

We utilize MinION and PromethION sequencers from Oxford Nanopore Technologies for our long read sequencing. This innovative third-generation sequencing system utilizes proprietary nanopore sensing technology to generate long sequencing reads. The PromethION is our highest-throughput long read sequencer, typically delivering yields of 60Gb to 150Gb of data (dependent on sample quality/parameters), with median accuracy >Q20 (99%). We can also achieve reads using duplex calls (reads of both strands) to achieve reads in excess of Q30 (99.9% accuracy) but at a reduced yield [https://nanoporetech.com/accuracy]. Nanopore sequencers are capable of sequencing DNA sequences, e.g. 100bp to more typically 10’s to 100’s of kilobases, or potentially even a few Mb’s. Direct RNA sequencing is also achievable.
