Jasmine Dibben
Postgraduate Researcher
Geology
Jasmine Dibben is a PhD student within the Active Earth research group, as part of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Penryn Campus, primarily supervised by Dr James Hickey. Her current research focus is volcano deformation at active polar and sub-polar calderas, using numerical models to investigate the influence of hydrothermal activity on volcanic unrest at Deception Island, Antarctica. The project is funded by a PhD Studentship from the NERC GW4+ Doctoral Training Partnership. Her main interests are volcano deformation and unrest, volcanic hydrothermal systems and deformation modelling. As part of an Integrated Masters’ in Geology, Jasmine’s past research experience surrounds deformation modelling using a geophysically inferred magma reservoir geometry in place of a traditional, simplified ellipsoid.
