Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The 4th Industrial Revolution is driving a rapid change at scale in technological advances such as IoT, artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, supercomputing, cloud-based communication and cross-disciplinary fields such as neuro-technology.
Our Entrepreneurship team work collaboratively with staff, Entrepreneurs in Residence (Nick Russill and Steve Senior) and students and to nurture and explore the incredible innovation and technology development in Engineering. We work closely with the Student StartUp team on pre-incubator and incubator programmes and SETSquared is the UBI number 1 Global University Business Incubator supporting researchers and academics in our team to develop innovative technological inventions on their route to entrepreneurship.
Our Entrepreneurship team have a breadth of technical, consulting and Entrepreneurship experience with an industry network including Arup, TerraDat Geophysics, Signbox, Mathys, CellPath, NHS, AECOM, WSP and ST Microelectronics and our research and consultancy background includes:

- 3S’s, Scalability, Structure and Systems
Recent success from engineering students in the ‘Elevate: Engineers in Business competition’ (2019 Lyster Surfcraft, 2020 PETexe and BioSmart) illustrates that the success of supporting students to develop innovative ideas that benefit the UK’s economy and society.
