The EVolutionary Ecosystem (EVE) Model

The aim of the “EVE” project (funded by the Leverhulme Trust)  is to advance the representation of ecological and evolutionary processes in models, in order to improve understanding of the role of the marine ecosystem in the Earth system, past, present, and future. The project utilises a suite of physiologically motivated, trait-based, individual-based models (IBMs), which attempt to understand ecosystem structure and function as emergent properties of basic biochemical, biophysical and bioenergetic constraints.
