Damien is an Associate Professor of Geographical Information Science, GIS.

Damien empowers digital transformation through his teaching of GIS, allowing learners to discover how location information is being analysed to make better decisions across many sectors and industries including business, government, science and leisure. In 2020 Damien became a Principal Fellow of The Higher Education Academy. He has won awards for his work on developing teaching tools and innovative applications of technology for web mapping, immersive interactive environments and educational videos. In his teaching he showcases how GIS tools are transforming the way data is collected, the research we undertake, the networks we reach, the way we communicate through geo-apps and the decisions that we make as individuals and organisations.
