Just Futures

Just Futures undertake conceptual and empirical work on health, environment, politics, and technologies

Just Futures brings together academics, researchers and postgraduate students interested in advancing our understanding of how geographical and social science inquiry can generate knowledge, practices, and imaginations to realise just futures in a time of societal, political, and planetary uncertainty. We draw on a range of theoretical and conceptual approaches in science and technology studies, postcolonial and decolonial studies, and political geography to progress understanding of the spatialities of health, environment, politics and knowledge. As a group of critical investigators and thinkers, we interrogate normative claims about just futures, asking questions about how they are defined and materialised, by and for whom, whilst paying close attention to resistances and the forging of alternative collective futures.
