Ipplepen Archaeology Project to host public Open Day in September

The Ipplepen Archaeology Project 2018: Public Open Day
Saturday 8 September, 10.30am-3.30pm

The University of Exeter is pleased to announce that the Ipplepen Archaeology Project will have its annual excavation this August and September. While there is no public access during the working week, there will be a public OPEN DAY on Saturday 8 September. Come and visit the excavation and learn from the archaeologists what has been found this year, see artefacts from the site and talk to experts from the University, the British Museum, Portable Antiquities Scheme, Torquay Museum and Devon County Council. The event will include displays and re-enactors, and refreshments will be available.

Access to the open day will be signposted from Ipplepen village and the main road (A381), and marshals will be on hand to direct you.

You can also keep up to date with progress of the excavation from the very start by visiting the project’s Information Centre at the community café at the Methodist Church in Ipplepen village, which will be open weekdays between Tuesday 21 August and Friday 14 September, 10.00am – 4pm.
