Join UoE’s Humanities and Social Sciences PhD Open Evening on 22 May

Have you ever wondered if studying for a PhD could be right for you? Perhaps you are interested in delving into a subject that fascinates you; or think a PhD might boost your career prospects.

Whatever your motivation or interests, you are invited to join us for an informal PhD Open Evening – hosted by the College of Humanities and the College of Social Sciences and International Studies.

The Colleges offer PhDs in a broad range of subject areas – for example: Politics; English, Sociology, Education, History, Archaeology, International Relations and Drama (to name just a few). With a variety of full and part-time study options, including 'practice-based' PhDs, a PhD can fit with a broad range of lifestyles and commitments.

The evening will help ‘demystify’ the PhD, answering any questions you may have: How is a PhD assessed? How do I find the right Supervisors for me? Can I pursue the subject I love via a PhD? Could I fit it in around my work and other commitments? How much does it cost? What help could I get with funding?
