UoE’s Professor Winter appointed to National Trust’s SW Regional Advisory Board

Michael Winter, Professor of Land Economy & Society in the University’s Centre for Rural Policy Research, has been appointed to the SW Regional Advisory Board for the National Trust, one of the Heritage Strategy Group’s key industry partners.

Michael comments: “I am committed to land and property management practices that work towards sustainable development. My primary research interest is in how agricultural and related policies influence land management decisions and the outcomes of those decisions for environmental, economic and social sustainability in the countryside. Heritage is an integral part of all this. I am really looking forward to working with the National Trust and supporting its important work in the region.”

Michael is also a member of the board of Natural England and chairs the Partnership board of the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere.
