SCI Visiting Researcher Scheme

The SCI Visiting Researcher scheme is a new initiative we launched in September 2024.

We are providing an opportunity to invite outstanding, innovative and interdisciplinary researchers to the University of Exeter to share aspects of their work with diverse audiences. We are keen to attract emerging and established research leaders whose approaches are likely to engage colleagues across our community.

The expectation is that a visitor would deliver a public presentation together with a masterclass/workshop/panel discussion event for postgraduate researchers and/or early career researchers, and to contribute a feature for the SCI website.

Visiting Researchers must be nominated by an academic at the University of Exeter.

To nominate a researcher for this scheme, please send the below details to societiesandcultures@exeter.ac.uk:

  • Name of Visitor
  • Link to profile of Visitor
  • Brief summary of Visitor's research
  • Proposed number of days on campus (including dates if possible)
  • Amount (£) requested (up to £1500) from SCI (including a budget breakdown)
  • Key Research areas that the Visitor’s expertise/knowledge will link to the University of Exeter and SCI
  • Key departments who will be interested
  • 500 word plan for the visit

Nominations for Term 1 and Term 2 closed for 2024/25.

Deadline for nominations for Term 3 for 2024/25: Monday 6th January 2025.
