Ocean, Human Health and Well-being
Human health and wellbeing are closely interconnected with the “health” of our seas and ocean - a relationship which is under mounting strain as rapidly growing populations, climate and other environmental change apply increasing pressure on coastal and marine resources and locations. In efforts to deliver a better understanding of local and global marine environment and human health interactions, we are helping to lead a coordinated, transnational and interdisciplinary research approach in this emerging field. This includes groundbreaking research on climate change, coastal pathogens and health and world leading research on the role of the sea, rivers and other blue spaces on health and wellbeing.
