Overview
Before my PhD, I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Exeter, graduating with an integrated MPhys. My MPhys dissertation involved applying a local FMR frequency method to quantify the dynamic manifestation of the configurational anisotropy in nanomagnets.
In 2018, I joined the EPSRC Centre of Doctoral Training for Metamaterials (XM2) at the University of Exeter under the supervision of Prof. Rob Hicken, Prof. Mustafa Aziz and Dr Maciej Dabrowski. Over the next 4 years, I conducted many experiments with an emphasis on using techniques such as X-ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism (XMCD) and X-ray Detected Ferrromagnetic Resonance (XFMR) at synchrotron facilities (such as the Diamond Light Source in Didcot or the Advanced Light Source in Berkeley, USA) to investigate magnetisation dynamics within complex multilayer samples by providing element-specific measurements at picosecond time scales. I submitted my PhD thesis, entitled "Magnetization Dynamics in Exchange Coupled Multilayers", in September 2022.
As of May 2022, I have been working as Public Engagement Manager for the Centre for Metamaterial Research and Innovation (CMRI) at Exeter and the UK Metamaterials Network. For this role, I have been responsible for organising public engagement strategy for metamaterial research at Exeter and the wider UK as well as day-to-day communications with the stakeholders across academia, industry, government agencies and funding bodies.
