Overview

I teach on the Electronic Engineering programme and lead the Quantum Nanophotonics research group, which focuses on nanophotonics, 2D materials, quantum emitters and related topics. Our research is centred on the intersection of physics and engineering, with a focus on basic science and its translation into innovative technologies. Recent work has focused on the photonic integration of 2D materials for applications in quantum technology. In particular, colour centre defects in hexagonal boron nitride for magnetic field sensing [1-3], single photon source [4,5] and super-resolution microscopy [6] applications.
