Overview
I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2015 with a Masters in Electronics and Electrical Engineering. During my time at university I became fascinated with solid state physics and in particular light-matter interactions in semiconductors.
As my masters project I did a 6 month placement at Texas Instruments where I worked in analogue electronic design. In the team I took part in designing a novel analogue to digital converter.
Following my fascination in solid state physics I started as a postgraduate researcher in the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Metamaterials (XM2). My PhD project is concerned with better understanding light matter interactions in perovskites with the aim of building a functional laser using this exciting material.
In addition to the funding I receive through the EPSRC, my research is kindly supported by the 1966 PhD Scholarship.
