The Aquatic Resources Centre (ARC) provides a world-class teaching and research facility containing 14 aquaria rooms, analytical labs and a dedicated Wolfson Foundation-funded imaging unit. Research taking place in the ARC includes understanding biological systems and studying aspects of human health, from modelling human disease processes through to drug development.

Our flow cytometry technology platform provides the next generation of cytometry systems for quantitative single cell research. This includes cutting-edge flow cytometry analysis (acoustic, spectral, imaging), BSLII cell sorting, multiplexing and complex data analysis.

The NIHR Exeter Clinical Research Facility (NIHR Exeter CRF) improves patient care by increasing understanding of the causes of disease and improving diagnosis and treatment. Facilities include bespoke wards and consulting rooms, sample handling laboratories and specialist equipment for investigating exercise, physiology and metabolism. The facility is run in partnership with the Royal Devon and Exeter Trust.

We use our GW4 alliance state-of-the-art electron cryo-microscope for high resolution cyro-microscopy and analysis. It is based at the South West regional facility for Cyro-EM at University of Bristol.
