At the University of Exeter we are leading the way to a sustainable future through application of data science and artificial intelligence (AI) to urgent environmental and sustainability challenges.

Harnessing this ‘Environmental Intelligence’, in partnership with organisations across different sectors from industry to government, is providing meaningful insights that inform decision-making, improve risk management, and enable the development of new technological solutions, whilst considering their social and ethical implications.

Our flagship Joint Centre for Excellence in Environmental Intelligence with the Met Office is pioneering the development of solutions to some of the world’s most complex challenges, from climate change and biodiversity loss to global pandemics.

AI for Collective Intelligence (AI4CI) hub

We are part of the £12.8M UKRI AI4CI hub, which utilises smart collectives to improve decision making. Environmental Intelligence theme will help develop new technologies to ensure climate data is easily and more readily available and utilised. Read more>>

AI-elevated Decision-support via Digital Twins for Restoring and Enhancing Ecosystem Services (ADD-TREES)
