Exeter Brain

Exeter Brain

Exeter Brain is a multidisciplinary research network that aims to advance our understanding of the brain and its implications for health, education, and society.

We use a range of methods and tools, such as neuroimaging, electrophysiology, genetics, pharmacology, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing, to study the structure, function, and plasticity of the brain, and how it enables and supports social interaction, communication, behaviour, and cognition. We translate our findings into novel therapies, interventions, solutions, and innovations that can improve the lives of people with neurological and psychiatric disorders, such as stroke, dementia, depression, and addiction, as well as those who face social challenges or opportunities, such as autism, mental health, education, and leadership.

We engage with diverse stakeholders and audiences to share our knowledge, insights, and impact. We work closely with partners such as the NHS and the Chronic Pain Neurotechnology Network. We foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation among our researchers, students, staff, and partners.
