Fisheries and Aquaculture
We research all aspects of marine fisheries including population ecology of fish stocks, fisheries management, remote sensing, health and wellbeing of fishers and their communities and historical ecology. Our research adopts an ecosystem-based approach to marine management, and our research in fisheries management is increasingly focused on Post-Brexit arrangements and outcomes for the UK fisheries sector.
This theme includes The Centre for Sustainable Aquaculture Futures, which is operated in partnership with Cefas (Centre for Environmental Fisheries and Aquaculture Science) to investigate aquatic disease, anti-microbial resistance, aquatic food safety, genomics and host-pathogen interactions.
