Justice and Violence Studies @Exeter

Funding for Network members.

Justice & Violence Studies @ Exeter Network funds are available to Network members for events or activities that meet the Network’s goals to:

  • Increase the range and depth of members’ level of collegial support, access to mentorship and advice, and sense of belonging to an academic community relevant to their research.
  • Increase the extent to which members collaborate on interdisciplinary research and funding opportunities, especially large research grants.
  • Increase the visibility of the network and, in turn, attract new members and foster active participation.
  • Facilitate collaborations with external partners and extend the network's impact beyond academia.

Members can apply for up to £500 per event or activity.

To apply for funds, applicants must:

  • Outline how their event or activity meets one or more of the Network’s goals.
  • Provide a budget detailing how the funds will be spent e.g. event refreshments, venue hire.
  • Confirm that the Network will be acknowledged on publicity material and during the event/activity.

Please note:

  • These funds cannot be used for PhD research activities.
  • Where the number of fundable applications exceeds the amount of funds available, and all else being equal, preference will be given to early career researchers (those studying for their PhD or within 5 years of completion).
  • When funds are provided by the Network, the applicant must acknowledge this support using the words ‘Supported by’ alongside the Justice & Violence Studies logo (this will be provided).

Send your application for funds to Network Coordinator Sally Hawkes by email: s.a.hawkes@exeter.ac.uk
