About the research

The visitor will be able to undertake a significant piece of archival research which will be disseminated primarily through three designated Leverhulme Lectures (held at the University of Exeter, King's College, London, and the Institute of Historical Research, University of London). The visit will enable the host institution, the Bracton Centre for Legal History Research, to collaborate in various research areas of interest to its staff, notably in the field of the European Courts and in legal history methodologies and approaches to source material. Through his expertise in twentieth century legal history (especially European legal integration) the visitor will be able to teach, inform, assist and enthuse students of legal history and European Law at the University of Exeter Law School through a series of formal seminars and informal research workshops. The visitor will be able to meet and discuss research questions with leading scholars in European law and legal history both in the host institution and in several other universities and take advantage of the significant body of research material available in the UK.
