About the research
We propose to conduct the largest ever national (England and Wales) survey designed to explore the well-being of the agricultural community (for current purposes defined as farmers, other members of farm households and farm workers). Specifically, the objectives of the research are to:
- Establish the health and well-being status of the farming community of England and Wales and, where possible, compare this with data for the population as a whole.
- Explore the relationship between mental and physical health and farm business management, planning and performance.
- Understand how concerns about health may impact on future plans and decision making.
