Research and Impact Management Environment

Research and Impact Management Environment

The University is taking several steps to improve the tools and processes that support our research community. Investing in new technologies and facilities is one of the University’s strategic objectives and will enable us to reach our goals.

We have launched a single point of information that details the forthcoming changes to our digital tools. The Research & Impact Management Environment (RIME) will host communications, training and provide access to the following systems:

  • Worktribe: to support the research lifecycle, from proposal through to project management
  • Symplectic Elements: updated version to better support output and impact management
  • Dimensions Plus: supports academics and professional services in horizon scanning, comparator analysis and network building
  • Altmetrics: can help researchers understand how their outputs are being shared and discussed via social media and online

We recognise that different teams and individuals will interact with these tools in different ways, therefore we will use a tailored approach with training and guidance and will support individuals and teams to feel ready and prepared to adopt these tools, using them to enhance their experience of research and or output management.

RIME will remain focused on enabling tools, please continue to use the Research Toolkit and/or departmental webpages to ensure you have the correct guidance in terms of research policy and approach.
