Hannah joined the University of Exeter in 2021, following a varied career over 20+ years, mainly in the private sector, including in business analysis and development and later contracting and supplier management, as Category Manager and Data Insights Advisor. 

Since August 2024, she has been part of the Research & Innovation Project Delivery Team, supporting externally funded projects, working closely with acaedmic leads and researchers and colleagues across university services (RS, EI, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Ethics, IT, HR, Design).

 

Hannah works 0.5 FTE flexibly, usually on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

 

University Project Experience:

EEIST II Project Manager [Aug 24 – ongoing - ESE Faculty cluster - £600k DESNZ-funded project to develop cutting edge modelling solutions to support government decision making around low-carbon transition.]

  • Coordinating work of a consortium of partners
  • Managing relationship with funder, including meetings, milestone updates, negotiating NCE
  • Arranging contracts and variations with funder, partners and suppliers
  • Working with recruitment processes to secure new staff to the research team, including liaison with RFM to share funding between projects
  • Coordinating with RFM to oversee budget, and ensure spend is in-line with funder terms & conditions
  • Bridge between academics and Design Team to produce and deliver policy briefs
  • Support to PI in developing new bids

 

Imagining Futures Project Coordinator then Project Manager [Feb 2021 – Jul 24 - HASS Faculty cluster - £2m AHRC-funded international project with partners in Global South (especially Africa and ME) - research institutions, independent researchers,  community groups and NGOs - to facilitate innovative archiving practice of under-represented and marginalised knowledge and history]

  • Management of commissions application and selection process
  • Working with successful grant awardees / sub-project partners

         - supporting them with preparing ethics (Worktribe) & Covid safeguarding documentation, data management

         - setting up contracts / collaboration agreements

         - reviewing project progress and expenditure reports to ensure compliance with AHRC funding rules

  • Monitoring project finance and budget; managing payments to international partners (both RIs and independent researchers) in T1; reviewing or preparing complex fund reconciliations
  • Liaison with Project PI, international Co-Is and Steering Group; preparing reporting for PI & external funder
  • Editing project website
