About me:

Lucy provides administrative support to the PROGROUP Study research team, co-led by Prof Mark Tarrant and Prof Jon Pinkney.

Originally recruited in 2012 as an administrator for the DiReCT Study: Improving Recruitment to Clinical Trials, Lucy has provided administrative and research support to various other studies including Steps, CADET, and the ESSENCE PDG, providing support to Prof David A Richards and the wider team.

Lucy joined the PROGROUP research team in July 2021 to support the delivery of a NIHR-funded Programme Grant, conducted in collaboration with the University of Plymouth. This programme of work is looking at ImPROving GROUP Treatment for People with Severe Obesity (The PROGROUP Project).

In this project, researchers from the University of Exeter Medical School and the University of Plymouth will work with the NHS, patients, the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration South West Peninsula (PenARC), and the Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit (PenCTU) to investigate whether an intensive group-based behavioral programme is less costly and more effective than usual care for people with severe obesity.

Interests:

Lucy is passionate about Health Research, supporting studies which look at complex health conditions, and working to improve people’s health and quality of life.
