Volunteering and Community Challenges
Did you know that as a member of staff, the University allows teams and individuals a paid day to undertake volunteering in the community? This is known as a Community Challenge and it can be a teambuilding exercise for a department. See our Volunteering and Giving page for information on Community Challenge and other volunteering opportunities at the University.
Learning, development and training
Learning and Developmentās primary purpose is to design and implement University-wide training and development systems and programmes. Much of our work is aimed at helping the University meet its commitments as a good employer by ensuring that training needs are identified and provision is in place to meet organisational, as well individual, needs. This means we work closely with specialist internal and external providers to design programmes to meet specific requirements.
- Details of training providers and courses are on the Learning and development website.
- Staff learning and development contacts.
Financial support for external learning
We are committed to ensure that you have the opportunity to develop yourself by acquiring skills and knowledge for your job role. In particular, if you need to undertake training which is directly relevant to your work (excluding conferences) or complete an accredited programme of study which leads to a qualification. Further information on the level of support can be found on our Learning and Development webpages.
