Course overview:

This 1 hour bitesize course is open to all staff at the University of Exeter and will cover all you need to know about completing a DPIA.

It will be of particular benefit to:.

- Staff members who have responsibilities for research involving the use of data personal/special category data or commercially sensitive data.

- Staff who develop, maintain or implement systems / applications /tools for processing which use personal, sensitive or commercially sensitive data.

- Project managers / persons completing projects / IT product replacement programmes.

- Previous data protection champions who wish to refresh and enhance their knowledge.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the session delegates will have considered:.

- Why and when a DPIA is required.

- The process for carrying out a DPIA and the approval routes.

- Best practice and right first time quality of a DPIA.

- The DPO role in relation to the DPIA and associated documentation.

- The legal, audit and monitoring arrangements that may need to be completed on your approved DPIA.
