About this course:

This activity is for Research active staff and would be particularly useful to Early Career Researchers.

Pre-course information will be circulated beforehand.

Do you want to be able to search faster and more successfully for electronic resources for your research, learning or teaching? This session will cover advanced search techniques you can use for everything from Google Scholar to Web of Science.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to: - Turn a research question into an effective search strategy; - Identify the most appropriate search tools for your research; - Effectively use Boolean operators to develop a search string; - Fine tune searches with the use of truncation, wildcards and other search techniques.
