Attending and Managing Meetings
Description | Theme: Professional Development Category: Working within a Team About this course: Meetings are an integral part of working life. While good meetings can help us make decisions, solve problems and generate ideas together, poor meetings can be a serious drain on our time, energy and resources. This session will run through the meeting process providing some tips and hints for co-ordinating, managing or simply attending a meeting. Topics covered will include planning and meeting objectives, keeping a meeting focussed, identifying your role, having your say and taming your meeting meddlers! We will consider the areas in terms of face to face and remote meetings. If you have signed on to a session and have not received an invitation within 24 hours of the course start date please email us at peopledevelopment@exeter.ac.uk. During this session we will discuss:. - Key planning and preparation requirements for arranging or attending a meeting. - Identifying your role and having your say. - Keeping a meeting focused. - Taming your meeting meddlers!.
