About this course:

Open access allows greater visibility of research and can stimulate new research opportunities and collaborations.

The University's Open Access Policy supports the position that publicly funded research is a public good that should be made openly available to the public when legally, commercially and ethically appropriate.

This virtual session is designed to help support researchers comply with funding bodies' requirements on open access to research papers.

If your research is externally funded, your research funder may require you to make your funded outputs open access.

This session will help you to understand your obligations to your research funder and how to ensure you comply.

Your funder may pay to publish open access, we will help you to understand the process for this.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:.

- Understand your obligations to your research funder.

- Comply with your funder's policies.

- Know how to publish open access if required by your funder.

Who should attend this course:

This course is recommended for all researchers publishing outputs arising from externally funded research grants, who may have open access obligations to their funder.
