Researcher Development : An introduction to Research Ethics Review

About this course: The course is an introduction to the main principles of ethics review to assist researchers with little or no experience of applying to a Research Ethics Committee. There will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions about the ethical challenges and requirements of their research.
Learning outcomes: As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:. - Appreciate why ethics review is an important requirement in universities. - Understand the difference between the terms `research ethics', `research governance' and `research integrity'. - Explain why and when ethics review is required for research at Exeter. - Reflect on the ethical concerns that a research project may present. - Navigate the Exeter ethics review online system in Worktribe.
Who should attend this course: Any researcher from ECR level onwards who wishes to know more about research ethics review and institutional policies and processes. The course may also be helpful for those who are new to the university and wish to understand institutional processes for ethics review and approval.
