About this course:

The Researcher-led Initiative Awards (RLI) provide funding to enable postgraduate research students and early career research staff (typically research-only staff grades E-G, however we welcome applications from academic, research and technical staff who consider themselves to be early career researchers, including, for example lecturers, experimental officers, research software engineers), to be creative, proactive and empowered, through the process of initiating, designing, managing and delivering new professional development activities for their peers that will develop the skills and experience needed to progress their careers.

These awards also offer the opportunity to experience applying for and managing a funding bid.

This Webinar offers help with completing the application form, including tips on what to include, and outlines the importance of providing a clear budget.

There is an opportunity to hear from successful 2024 award holders who will be able to share their experiences.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:.

- Have a clear understanding of the Award, funding criteria and how to apply.

- Obtain some tips on how to write a strong application.

- Learn how to understand your costings and write a clear budget.

- Learn about reaching your audience.

- What is expected of successful award holders.

- Learn what 2024 award holders have to say.

- Have any questions answered.
