Election to Council of Member of Staff other than Academic Staff |
30.1 |
The term of office of the elected support staff member of Council shall be three years, with three terms being the normal maximum. |
30.2 |
An election for the place shall be held every three years. |
30.3 |
There shall be a single constituency consisting of all support staff on the University's payroll. |
30.4 |
The election shall be conducted by the Registrar and Secretary by means of a postal ballot when necessary and using the Single Transferable Vote system. |
30.5 |
Each candidate shall be entitled to submit a single-sided A4 statement of not more than 500 words for circulation to the electorate. |
30.6 |
In the event of a casual vacancy occurring, there shall be a bye-election: |

(i) if the member is elected to fill a casual vacancy which has less than one year to run, the appointment shall be made for the unexpired term plus the three years of a further term; |
|
(ii) if the member is elected to fill a casual vacancy which has more than one year to run, there shall be a further election in the usual manner at the end of the unexpired term of office. |
