Accommodation Charges for 2014/15

Residence of Students

The University believes most students benefit from experiencing the University’s residential environment. It is the aim of the University to give all students the opportunity to spend at least a part of their undergraduate period in University owned/managed/approved accommodation.

Candidates who firmly accept the offer of a place at the University are invited to apply for accommodation and indicating their preferences. However, the University reserves the right to allocate accommodation at its discretion according to individual circumstances.

Full descriptions of the premises and facilities of the catered halls and self-catering accommodation are given on the Accommodation website.

Charges for Accommodation

Charges for the University accommodation are listed on the Accommodation website in respect of the session 22 September 2014 to 12 June 2015 (including the Christmas and Easter vacations). Students may take rooms for 32, 40, 42, 44 or 51 weeks subject to availability. The charges cover the cost of heating, lighting, hot water and some cleaning.

A deposit of £300 is payable by all students at the time of accepting an offer of accommodation and before entering University accommodation. If you take up your tenancy, the accommodation deposit will be split and credited equally against your accommodation charges in terms 2 and 3. This will reduce the outstanding amount for terms 2 and 3, and should be taken into account when making your termly payments. If you wish to pay the whole year in advance, please remember to deduct the amount of your deposit from your total fees due.

Postgraduate/International Students

For Postgraduate students a deposit of £300 is payable by all students at the time of accepting an offer of accommodation and before entering University accommodation.
