36 Retention of Status by Members of the Academic and Academic-Related Staffs after Early Retirement
  On the recommendation of the Senate in each case, the Council may give permission for an individual member of the academic staff who retires before the normal retirement date set by the relevant pension scheme and maintains an active role in teaching or research or administration to retain the status of a member of the University, the official designation of Professor, Reader, etc, constitutional rights as a full member of staff as enjoyed before retirement in respect of eligibility to vote in elections for and to serve on such official bodies as the Council, the Senate, Boards of Faculties and their committees, and College committees, and eligibility to hold University offices. With the permission of the Council, status as a member of the University may also be retained by a member of the academic related staff who continues in the service of the University on a part time basis after retiring before the normal retirement date. Previously enjoyed access to the facilities of the University shall be guaranteed in all cases. The retention of such status and privileges shall be subject to periodic review by the Senate and the Council.
