Election to Council of Member of Professional Services Staff |
| 39.1 |
The term of office of the elected Professional Services staff member of Council shall be three years, with three terms being the normal maximum. |
| 39.2 |
An election for the place shall be held every three years. |
| 39.3 |
There shall be a single constituency consisting of all Professional Services staff on the University's payroll. |
| 39.4 |
The election shall be conducted by the Registrar and Secretary. The detailed arrangements for an election, including the process for nominations, voting and candidate statements, will be determined by the Registrar and approved by the Chair of Council. |
| 39.5 |
In the event of a casual vacancy occurring, there shall be a bye-election: |

(i) if the member is elected to fill a casual vacancy which has less than one year to run, the appointment shall be made for the unexpired term plus the three years of a further term; |
| |
(ii) if the member is elected to fill a casual vacancy which has more than one year to run, there shall be a further election in the usual manner at the end of the unexpired term of office. |
