Toby Giles

Programme Manager

I joined the University in September 2018, having moved back to Exeter a few months prior, after nearly a decade in London.

My professional career started out at PwC, where I joined the graduate consulting scheme, and where I quickly moved into the programme and project management (PPM) team. Here I worked predominantly on large government and NHS programmes, as well as education, financial services and insurance projects. I also led on the internal development of project management skills within the PPM team.

After five years, I moved to Sainsbury’s where I took a pivotal role in the ‘Future Formats Trial’ programme, a £20 million programme that fundamentally changed Sainsbury’s supermarket offering.

More recently, I have worked for a Bath-based management consultancy, where clients included Danone, Gloucestershire Cricket Club and Children’s Hospice South West, where I worked with clients to deliver major organisational change

In my time at the University, I have worked closely with the Engineering department and I look forward to future challenges that this role will bring
