Business Intelligence (May 2017)

Strategic vision:

The project set out to deliver a transformed Business Intelligence Service to the University, which provides data collated and presented ready for strategic evidence-based decision making ensuring the University remains competitive within the sector.

Benefits delivered:

The project successfully delivered:

  • Eleven new Business Intelligence products and associated datasets answring business questions around University KPIs, students and HR information.
  • A new operating model implementing: new skills and ways of working within the service; new business requireemtns gathering approach, resource estimating and strategic prioritisation; and , a new governance structure.
  • A review of the architecture implmenting: a new hardware infrastructure improving the performance of operating the Business Intelligence Service; upgrading the reporting software to meet business needs; and, initiating a twelve-month pilot to establish the value of business scenario modelling to the University.
