Our Law Careers Fair, sponsored by Michelmores LLP is attended by international, national, regional and local law firms; barristers' chambers; legal education training providers, plus a small number of recruitment agencies and jobs portals.  Please note this fair is not suitable for those offering volunteering opportunities or chargeable internships. 

The event is promoted to all University of Exeter students, including those studying at our Penryn campus, Cornwall. As we encourage early consideration of career pathways, you can expect students in their first year through to their final year, from law and non-law subjects to register. Our graduates are also welcome.

To book onto the Law Careers Fair, please complete the online booking form here. Please note, you will need to login or register on Handshake in order to complete the form.

If you haven’t already, you will need to set up your Handshake account and connect with the University of Exeter, to be able to access the event registration form. Setting up your account and connecting with us can be done here. You will then need to click register to begin the booking process. If you are an agency, you must book under the client’s name and record. 

 

Most companies are eligible for our standard rate of £545+VAT except where special rates apply (please see below).    

  • Agency Rate - £660+VAT - all recruitment agencies and jobs portals.
  • Charity and Local SME Rate £220+VAT - Registered charities directly recruiting to own organisation for paid positions; professional bodies; Cornwall, Devon and Somerset-based SMEs (fewer than 250 staff).  

Due to high demand for this event, we recommend submitting your booking form promptly. Please note we limit the number of spaces available to recruitment agencies and jobs portals (specialising in graduate recruitment only), to a maximum of three. Limited spaces are available for those who are eligible for our discounted rate and are allocated at our discretion.

The charges include:

  • A stand space (2m height x 2.5m width x 1.5m depth)
  • One table and two chairs
  • One electrical point
  • Wifi access (subject to restrictions, you will need to bring a dongle if you have an encrypted laptop) 
  • Lunch for two exhibitors (additional lunches will be chargeable)
  • Tea, coffee, water and biscuits available throughout the day
  • One parking space depending on availability 
  • Use of the complimentary coach to and from Exeter St David’s train station.
  • A standard entry in our fair booklet

Invoicing will take place after the event. Failure to provide accurate invoicing details may result in a processing fee of up to £100 Please note we cannot accept payment by credit card. 

The Fair will take place in The Great Hall and Sanctuary, University of Exeter, Stocker Road, Exeter, Devon EX4 4PY. The event will be open to students from 12:30 to 15:30. However, 30 minutes will be run as a quiet session to enable students and staff with additional needs to more easily access the fair experience.

Access to the building is from 08:30 to 17:00. Student helpers will be available throughout these times to assist.

Cancellation must be received in writing by emailing employer-events@exeter.ac.uk by Wednesday 2 October 2024. Cancellations received after this date will result in the full cost being incurred. Failure to attend the fair, regardless of reason, will result in the full charge being levied.
