New Associate Priest joins the Anglican Chaplaincy
7th May 2025
Rev'd Sam Fletcher, a PhD student in Theology here at Exeter, is joining the Anglican Chaplaincy from this term, as an Associate Priest.
Sam grew up in Sutton-in-Craven, near Keighley in Yorkshire. He worked for a year as a youth worker in East London before studying for a BA in Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford, and then training for ministry at the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield.
Sam was ordained deacon in 2021 and priest in 2022. He served his curacy in the Benefice of Pontefract (Diocese of Leeds), before moving to Exeter for his doctoral research. He also teaches Christian Doctrine for the College of the Resurrection and St Hild Theological College.
Sam will also be leading our ‘Theology Club’ from September 2025. He is always up for a chat – whether that means a deep-dive into theology, just being a listening ear, or anywhere in between.
