United Reformed Church (URC) Chaplaincy
The United Reformed Church came into being in 1972 when Congregationalists and Presbyterians joined together. It is a relatively small denomination but has been at the forefront of the movement to make the church more inclusive. The Congregationalists started ordaining women a century ago, so women ministers have always been accepted in the URC. More recently, URC General Assembly passed a resolution to allow local churches to offer same-sex marriage.
